The Henley ETI Partnership

Henley Business School is one of the oldest and most respected business schools in the UK. Part of the University of Reading, Henley is structured around six academic themes: Business Informatics; Systems & Accounting; International Business & Strategy; Finance; Leadership, Organisations & Behaviour, Marketing and Reputation; Real Estate and Planning. Henley hosts 7,000 students annually with campuses in the UK, South Africa and Europe. The Henley Business School community has over 85,000 alumni in over 160 countries.

The European Training Institute has a different vocation focusing its services on European public affairs, a niche market segment in which it is highly regarded and very complementary to Henley's expertise.

In parallel to its university courses, Henley Business School provides tailor-made seminars to company executives. For 20 years, ETI has been providing the same service to European business professionals.

The Henley - ETI alliance combines both academic excellence and professional know-how. The alliance’s drive consists in passing on hands-on knowledge put into perspective by a thorough understanding of the economic, ecological and institutional environment of business communities.

The Henley - ETI programme is structured around 3 clusters:

  • Training courses focused on European affairs (European policies, decision-making processes, influence strategies, etc.) in combination with improving & strengthening skill sets (leadership, reputation, communication, etc.).
  • Creation of an NGO-industry platform, to create a better mutual understanding and to explore the margins for joint actions (enhanced institutional transparency, simpler governance, etc.) in order to overcome challenges via mediation.
  • Joint Henley-ETI branding and updating of the current ETI publications as well as future publications, addressing the themes outlined above. The well-known Comitology Newsletter will also benefit from the input and networks of Henley Business School. In addition, joint leadership-themed blogs and publication will be made available to audiences

Henley Campus
Henley Business School, Henley-on-Thames, UK

Henley’s history goes back to 1945 as being the first management college dedicated to rekindle the British business world after WWII. Henley quickly became the go-to institution for Personal Development within business, literally ‘bringing business to life’.

Henley participants don’t just learn a list of facts and theories. They develop and apply their learning to real-life situations, examining issues around ethics and sustainability and building an understanding of the wider global impact of business on society. This creates future leaders with strong business acumen, who are responsible and have a wider perspective. We offer the opportunity to live, breathe, practice and create business.

Henley Business School is a triple-accredited business school and part of the University of Reading. With campuses, offices and partnerships around the world, over 7,000 students from more than 100 countries and over 87,000 alumni from 160 countries, we are a truly international institution. Our courses are enriched by up to date knowledge, research and commercial experience, and aimed at students and professionals at every stage of their career – from undergraduate through to postgraduate, PhD, MBA, DBA and executive education.

Triple Accredited Business School

We are proud to be one of a selection of global business schools in the world to hold triple-accredited status from the leading UK, European and US accrediting bodies:

Our triple-accredited status is a result of the quality and high standards of our courses and faculty. It means you can be confident of the high standard of teaching you will receive. Each of the accreditation bodies exists to raise the standards of business education and the accreditation process is rigorous and takes into account all aspects of the Henley experience, including learning faculty and research.

ETI - The European Training Institute

EPPA Facade
European Training Institute, Brussels

The European Training Institute was founded in 2005 by Daniel Guéguen. Its mission was crystal-clear: offer high quality and high added-value executive/vocational training to professionals dealing with and engaging in the EU decision-making process. In the course of 5 years, ETI became the largest, private training institute on EU affairs based in Brussels, having trained thousands operating in the Brussels bubble, in Europe and beyond.

Vocational training is of all times, one could argue. But over the last couple of years the EU, its governance structure and modus operandi has changed profoundly and has become more and more complex. Not a day goes by that we at EPPA, do not receive a query or request for information to deliver training, ranging from training on the basics of EU decision-making for beginners or newcomers in EU affairs to sophisticated, tailored workshops on very specific EU policy areas and topics.

This has been the driver to re-activate and boost the European Training Institute (ETI) after several years in dormant state, on the basis of the successful recipe it was initially founded on.

All training and coaching sessions delivered by ETI are hands-on and operational, geared at delivering maximum added value to participants in their day-to-day activities. They are delivered by top lecturers who are EU Public Affairs practitioners and dispose of recognised pedagogic skills.

The sessions are fully interactive allowing participants to ask all the questions they wish and generating an exchange of views whenever possible. For this purpose, we tend to keep the groups for training relatively small (ideally maximum 15 participants). Other formats for training/coaching are of course open for discussion.

Participants to training receive specifically developed training material electronically and have access to our publications
